Wound Care Instructions- No Sutures
- Keep the dressing on and dry for 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, remove the dressing and gently clean the wound with mild soap and water, covering with petrolatum and bandage daily for one week, and petrolatum only for one more week.
- It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, sticky yellow discharge and discomfort for the first 24 hours, and it will improve in 1-2 weeks.
- For consistent bleeding, hold constant pressure over site for 15 minutes without peeking.
- You may take Tylenol as needed for pain.
- Continue sun protection and sunscreen for best healing.
- Biopsy and pathology results will be communicated to you within 7-10 days. Please contact us if you do not hear from us.

- After 24 hours, remove the dressing and gently clean the wound with mild soap and water, covering with petrolatum and bandage daily until suture removal, and for one week after suture removal.
- It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, sticky yellow discharge and discomfort for the first 48 hours.
- For consistent bleeding, hold constant pressure over site for 15 minutes without peeking.
- You make take Tylenol as needed for any pain
- Continue sun protection and sunscreen application for best healing.
- Biopsy and pathology results will be communicated to you within 7-10 days. Please contact us if you do not hear from us. If sutures need to be removed don’t forget to schedule an appointment in 7-14 days as directed for removal.

Liquid Nitrogen After-Care
- It is normal and expected for the treated area to become red and swollen, peaking around 24 hours after treatment. It will improve in 1-2 weeks.
- It is also normal for the area to form scale, crusting, or even blisters. Please do not pop the blisters as they are your biological bandage.
- Wash with gentle cleanser daily and cover with petrolatum. A bandage is not necessary but may be used for skin prone to friction.
- Continue sun protection and sunscreen during daytime for optimal healing.
- It is ok to use makeup during the healing time.
- If you are being treated for warts, it is important to return for repeat treatments as directed. The virus that causes warts is very resistant to treatments, so it typically takes multiple treatments for full resolution.
- If you are being treated for precancerous or cancerous lesions, it is important to have follow up to make sure the lesion has fully resolved.

Cantharidin After-Care
- Cantharidin is a topical liquid derived from the blister beetles used to treat warts and molluscum contagiosum. It causessuperficial blisters that make the wart or molluscum fall off.
- Be careful not to touch the area when wet. Be sure to wash the liquid off 4-6 hours after application as directed during your visit. You can wash it off early if you notice early blistering or intense pain.
- It is normal and expected for the treatment site to have redness, itching, blistering and mild discomfort, which will improve in 5-10 days.
- Wash treated site gently with mild soap and water daily and cover with petrolatum. Avoid use of peroxide or alcohol.
- You may use a bandage for the areas prone to friction like the thighs.
- Continue sunscreen for all exposed skin during daytime for optimal healing.
- It may take multiple treatments for full resolution so it is important to return for repeat treatments as directed. The virus that causes warts can be very resistant to treatment.
